Winter is like no other season. Some days will be calm and lovely. Some days will be bone chilling, cold harsh while some nippy. The change in weather can be overwhelming for some, resulting in a series of uninteresting outfits during this season. You can still serve looks while keeping it warm. Winter weather should not keep you from being the stylish diva you are. We have all been seeing these winter fashion trends going in and out, some evolving and more are still coming up. I should say it keeps getting better and better each year. Winter fashion shouldn’t be a struggle, keeping sassy but warm should be something you do without a hitch.
So, as winter approaches, what are the top things to have in your closet?
You don’t need to break your bank to be stylish ladies. If you can’t afford to order new stuff, you can always go thrift shopping. I do it all the time!
You can buy amazing outfit pieces at a thrift store, send them to the dry cleaners and they will come back looking as good as new. Own a whole new look without spending much.
Shoes! Are my favorite in winter. Imagining winter without the proper type of footwear is impossible. Your shoes play a vital role in keeping you warm. They should also keep you on the stylish side. Adding the perfect pair of shoes to an amazingly classy/ sassy/stylish outfit will surely get you turning heads. Life is too short to wear boring shoes anyways!
So what type of shoes work perfectly well for winter?
Boots
You can never go wrong with a pair of classic UGG boots. They are not only comfortable, they are stylish and very warm too. Now these work perfectly when you are trying to give off a chilled vibes look. You know that, it’s chilly but I’m going to get sassy and get things done kind of look.
Knee high boots. Every woman should own a pair. Get yourself a pair of a colour of your choice and you will be a fashionista throughout the winter. There are many ways to wear these shoes depending on your personal style. You can style your knee high boots with leggings and a sweater dress . If you are trying to get a chic look you can wear them with denim. Leggings, an oversized sweatshirt and your knee high boots are another idea for your winter fashion. This is a very comfortable and yet stylish look.
My favourite look is that of knee high boots, leather pants and a leather jacket for a street style look. I hope you notice that keeping it warm and stylish isn’t that difficult!
Ankle boots look very appealing and chic if they are showing off a little bit of skin. Teaming your ankle boots with skinny jeans that show off a little skin between the shoes and jeans is very sexy. I’m going to go with a statement coat because, if you intend to wear the same coat throughout winter, it has to be one that surely makes a statement. These have been evolving so much, the latest comebacks always leave me wowed. I remember growing up my grandma used to own a couple and I always thought they weren’t as appealing. They now come in plenty flattering options, this means you can surely find one of your preference. Team it with boots or leggings leggings for extra warmth. It’s all about keeping warm and sexy after after all.
Puffer jacket
We can’t mention any winter staple without bringing up the puffer jacket. These have been in style for decades and are surely going nowhere. Although they come in a dozen colours, I fell in love with the hunter green/ army green puffer jacket. This colour is dominating and I love it. It is associated with self love and strength anyways, so why not. Sure does sound like enough reason to purchase one.
Puffer jackets are a classic and you should definitely own one. Winter will be bearable with one of these and you never know, it could come in handy for a pregnancy shoot. We all saw how Rihanna rocked hers in pink and had the majority of women wishing they were pregnant.
Leather Jacket
